Offshore container as a smoking room
Noble Drilling was looking for a safe place where employees could smoke on the platform. The smoking room has to take account of limited space, strict safety guidelines and offshore installation. Alara-Lukagro supplied the smoking room as a fully customised offshore container, with all the desired facilities and in accordance with the applicable requirements.

Properties
- Standard CSC safety approved container adapted to serve as a smoking room.
- The container is soundproof and has thermal insulation
- Complete with door, windows (with safety glass, protection wire and sun screen) and all electrical components such as lighting, extraction with duct and ventilator with fire dampers.
- Including furniture (tables, benches and a urinal)
- Fitted with ISO hoisting lugs for transport to the offshore platform.
Project implemented to the customer’s satisfaction
Once the offshore container had been installed on the platform it appeared to be exactly what Noble Drilling needed. In fact Noble Drilling went on to place subsequent orders for smoking containers for its other offshore platforms.
In addition to the smoking container Alara-Lukagro has delivered many other solutions to Noble Drilling, including acoustic enclosures for generators, soundproof cabins for engine rooms and acoustic ventilation and silencers for shaker rooms.
