As a result of the changed standards for burglar resistance, Alara-Lukagro has had its doors subjected to a new burglar-resistant test, with a significant increase in the permitted tool set for performing a manual test. We are proud to say that the doors have passed the test. By passing this test, the doors again fully meet the burglar resistance requirements as set in the Building Decree and we can issue a burglary resistance class 2 and 3 according to the latest standards.
Burglar-resistant doors with a combination of properties
For a long time now, Alara-Lukagro has had burglar-resistant doors in her delivery package. The speciality of these doors has always been a combination of fire resistance and burglar resistance, available as single-leaf or double-leaf doors, with a one point lock in two directions of rotation, both inward and outward turning. One of our prestigious projects for which these doors were delivered is the NATO Head Office in Brussels.
Norms burglar resistance
Whether a door qualifies for burglar resistance, is determined by the compliance with the general norm NEN5096 and the sub-norms EN1627 up to and including EN1630. In these norms, the performance levels for burglar resistance of facade elements are formulated in the form of resistance categories with accessory determination methods. These norms are valid throughout Europe and the most common resistance categories are resistance classification 2 and 3.
Meanwhile, these norms have changed and as a result, Alara-Lukagro has had her burglar-resistant doors tested again. Normally, norms change very often without consequences for the certification of a door, but in this case, one of the sub-norms, the EN1630, had also changed. EN1630 states the required testing methods for the determination of resistance against manual burglar attempts, and consequently, a serious adaptation in the form of a substantial weighting of the admitted tool set for the execution of a manual test was needed.
Burglary test
Fortunately, all doors of Alara-Lukagro have passed the tests with honours, thereby again fully complying with the burglar resistance regulations as stated in the Building Decree. As a result, we can still deliver these doors with burglar resistance classification 2 and 3, according to the latest regulations.
On top of that, Alara-Lukagro will apply for a SKG-IKOB KOMO certificate for her doors, so that we can guarantee that our doors will permanently comply, now and in the future, with the latest regulations of both government and market partners.
