Acoustic ventilation louvres for LNG Break Bulk

A number of big compressors at LNG Break Bulk spreaded too much noise. Therefor Alara-Lukagro supplied more than 70 acoustic ventilation louvres and panels to reduce the noise pollution.

To let LNG Break Bulk run there are compressors lined up. These spread too much noise, making sound reductions necessary. At the same time, the compressors need enough ventilation air for a good performance. Therefor Alara-Lukagro was asked to supply complete walls of acoustic ventilation louvres.

Fluor managed the project and let Iemants place the steel construction. We provided the whole covering: acoustic ventilation louvres, wall and roof panels and access doors. This concerns no less than 455 m2 louvres and 1.165 m2 panels.

Maasvlakte 2

LNG Break Bulk in Rotterdam is a handling facility at Maasvlakte 2 (the new harbour of Rotterdam) where small amounts of liquid natural gas are pumped over to bunker ships and small tankers. These ships can supply vessels that use LNG as fuel or they can bring LNG to other areas in Europe where they supply industry or bunker stations for inland vessels. Vopak and Gasunie are both owners of LNG Break Bulk.

Sustainability

For Maasvlakte 2 sustainability means future-proof: the investments of today should not be at the expense of the quality of live of the next generations. Since 2015, there are more strict emission requirements for the shipping industry and trucks. LNG is the only fossil fuel that satisfy these environmental requirements without extra adjustments.
